19. There’s a Place

There’s A Place  – This is a love song about care and protection where “failures never follow”.  It speaks of a heart that is committed to creating a place for the other person that is safe and free.  The original song was recorded live for preservation.  Later, I recorded this version, recently after living two years with a version I detested.  I started from scratch and built the song the way I wished I had done it the first time.  I recorded this one on my own.  I love the Oboe solo.  It is a simple song, but what a message.

There’s a place that you can go,
Where the world can stop its spinning,
Where the morning softness nears,
As the days that take more like years,
To flee.

There’s a place that you can go,
Where your dreams can cease their slumbering,
Wrestling chains that have them bound,
Struggling to be found,
And free.

Chorus: We can soar over high mountain reaches,
And sail accross shimmering seas,
We can dance on the star sparkled beaches,
As the wind wispers song through the trees.

There’s a heart that you can know,
Where failures never follow,
For daring to be tried,
It holds its hope inside,
To be.

There’s a place that you can go,
Where your fears will never find you,
Where the doubts can not betray,
And the tears too far away,
To see.

That place is me.
